The Impact of Microaggressions on Well-Being

Expanding Understanding and Employing Practical Skills to Interrupt Bias

June 9, 3:00-4:30 PM

*In collaboration with Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Committee for Public Counsel Services, Greater Boston Legal Services, and Mass Attorney General’s Office

We all have unconscious biases. They are a result of how our brains work and our experiences in life. Unconscious bias often manifests in the form of microaggressions. The goals of this workshop are to understand the impact of microaggressions on the well-being of our clients, colleagues and opposing counsel; to develop skills for interrupting bias; and, to learn how to recover when we commit a microaggression.

This 90-minute workshop is designed to be interactive; so, arrive prepared to engage in conversations as we explore these concepts together.
